1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Picklr, we collect the following:

• Account information: Your name, username, and password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read your password)
• Match and tournament data: Scores, results, and stats you log in the app
• Location data: Your approximate location when you use the courts map, to show nearby courts and distances. We do not store your location.
• Device information: Push notification token, device type, and OS version for sending notifications
• Usage data: App activity such as matches logged, challenges sent, and groups joined
• Photos: Profile photos and group photos you choose to upload

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your Picklr account
• Calculate and display your DUPR ratings, stats, and leaderboard rankings
• Enable challenges, match logging, tournaments, and group features
• Send you push notifications about challenges, match results, and app activity
• Show nearby pickleball courts based on your location
• Improve the app and fix bugs

4. Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers. We share limited data only in these cases:

• Other users: Your username, display name, DUPR ratings, and match stats are visible to other Picklr users as part of leaderboards, groups, and challenges
• Service providers: We use Supabase (database hosting) and Expo (push notifications) to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality agreements
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users

5. Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Passwords are hashed using SHA-256 and are never stored in plain text. Match history and app preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. In-App Purchases

Picklr offers optional in-app purchases (gem packs for avatar customization). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.

7. Challenge Coins

Picklr uses a virtual coin system ("Challenge Coins") that are earned by playing matches and completing challenges. Challenge Coins have no real-world monetary value, cannot be converted to cash, and cannot be purchased directly. They are used solely for in-app challenges between players.

8. Children's Privacy

Picklr is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use Picklr or provide any information to us.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have information from a child under 13, contact us at picklrapp1@gmail.com.

9. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings
• Revoke location access at any time through your device settings

10. Data Retention

We retain your account information and match data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

11. Third-Party Services

Picklr uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and backend infrastructure
• Expo / Expo Notifications — push notification delivery
• Apple App Store — app distribution and in-app purchases

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Picklr after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
